Today all of us bar Agnes made our to Neuchwanstein Castle for a day trip and it was incredible!! as we sat on the train the Alps loomed above us as we got closer and closer to our destination and then when we got there and got a bus to the to of the mountain we go an amazing view of the valley and the lake and alps and castle and it was so very very nice to be in a natural setting once again. once inside the castle unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photos but the mastercraftsmonship was incredible, every detail was perfection, although we didn't get to see the entirety of the castle and were only allowed where the audio guide directed you, and man I cant tell you how badly I wanted to run off and find some hidden passage ways because seriously if you are going to make a castle, especially if you are a paranoid crazy you for sure build in secret passage ways. other than trying very hard to fight that urge the castle was so beautiful and you could see the precautions they have taken to preserve it and I do definitely respect that as they must get a lot of not so well behaved visitors every year. I do really wish we could have walked down once we left the castle but unfortunately time was not on our side, even though in the end we did end up actually missing our connecting bus by something stupid like 2 minutes. anyway, it was a good day and nice to get out of the city and hear some birdsong and raging waters from the waterfalls.
