Day 11
In the morning we made our way to Hanau to see a retrospective on Herman Junger who had some really interesting works, I especially liked his brooches that looked like aerial interpretations of city scapes and also an exhibition of ancient Algerian jewellery which I really enjoyed, it was incredible to think they had made all of that such a long time ago and with such ingenuity. From there we headed back into Frankfurt and went to the Museum Fur Angewandte Kunst to see the Under Arms: Fire and Forget 2 exhibition which was really confronting especially when analysing how ingrained warfare is in our lives and cultures. Afterwards we tried to get gluƶhwein at an old German pub and got vinegar instead so then we found a little street cart that had it instead. That night after some delicious Korean, David and I stayed up talking jewellery, language, people and lives which was a really good way to start trying to connect with the project and things we have seen and experienced so far.
